Randomness at the end of a random week...

I've really got nothing to say tonight other than it's been a heck of a week. Settling into this new job-thing is taking some time. It'll be OK, but for now, it's taking much more time than expected. As previously reported, it's having a SERIOUS effect on my running effort. I got on Dread three times this week, but no outdoor running since last Friday's jaunt around the neighborhood.

On the home-front, Walter is a financial analyst, so you can only imagine what THAT'S been like this week.

DramaGirl and Turbo both auditioned for a local Junior Theatre production this week and BOTH GOT CALL-BACKS. (Hooray! Last year Turbo auditioned and didn't get selected to be in the play, which made it much less fun for the entire family).

Keep your fingers crossed that both of them get in this year.

So, that's what I've been doing this week...workin', watching kids practice for auditions, taking them to auditions, workin', frettin' 'bout the market, workin' some more, watching late night Fake News Shows in order to maintain sanity, which is when I learned about Fruit Infused Beer.

I mean really, who thought this was a good idea?

Seriously...fruit flavored beer?

I mean SERIOUSLY?

I really need to run some more...

  1. Oh we have had a similar week! I can't even look at my stocks/mutual funds etc....so frigging depressing!!! And I'm sorry but fruit flavored beer is probably the most disgusting thing I've ever heard of!!! Why ruin a perfectly good beer???? Speaking of beer-had a really nice one after work today with my friend in Santa Monica......just a little social outing!

I'm hoping to run tomorrow...as I hope you do as well. At least you got some sort of run in on the dreaded tread! I sold my treadmill during the Writers Guild Strike to get a little cash!!!

    Run hard and have fun!!

  2. I can only imagine what your husband's job must've been like this week! Ack.

Hope things get on track soon, and you can return to the running!

  3. The fruit flavored beer isn't too bad, we sampled some at Sea World. It's just not something I'd seek out. You know, we've had lime in our Coronas before. It's just that the fruit flavored beer tastes a little watered down. I'd rather spend the cash on actual beer and actual limes. ;)

Good luck to DramaGirl and Turbo! I hope they make it!!! (It's such a huge deal!)

  4. Well, now, wait a minute -- Irene's right. I always drink my Corona with lime, so aren't we already drinking fruit-infused beer?

I'll keep my fingers crossed that your son and daughter make it -- maybe even land lead roles!!

I am with you. I love me a Corona Lite w/lime but I just don't get fruit flavoring in beer.

  7. I have been known to have a lime, lemon, or an orange in my beer but I don't think I could buy the fruit flavored stuff. yuck.

I hope things calm down a bit for you and I wish the kiddos good luck on their call backs. how exciting!

  9. It is supposed to appeal to women...Creative Loafing Atlanta did a critique of it and deemed them all gross.

  10. I was never a fan of the blueberry brew at the local microbrewery. Blech. But, at this point, I'd drink anything if only I could.
